about

Rebecka Egers is a Fredericton, New Brunswick (NB) artist working predominately in the mediums of painting and photography. She has a Diploma in Fine Craft and a Major in Photography from the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design (NBCCD).

Rebecka relocated to a remote town in British Columbia (BC) in 2010, and spent several years afterwards living out of her camper and travelling to remote regions of Canada’s northwest coast where she photographed its vast culture and environments. Rebecka’s primary focus later flourished to painting scenes of the Canadian wilderness, and the wildlife that inhabits there – particularly the West. Her art reflects her love for nature, its untamed rawness and all the power it holds. Her inspiration stems mainly from her own experiences, her photographs, and the photographs captured by other Northern based Artist’s. She works mainly with acrylics. Her style can be described as bold with an extensive color pallet. It’s “folk-like” bound together with hints of cultural based elements.

She now lives outside of Fredericton, NB with her fiancé and two children.  She paints and takes images in her spare time.

While studying at NBCCD, Rebecka received the “Outstanding Photographer in 2nd Year” Award, and participated in group showings in Fredericton and in Saint Andrews, NB. She has only just recently began showing her work publicly at local craft fairs, and establishments in Fredericton, NB.
